Team Truli!

Until recently, I have been running the business on my own with some help from partners and contract workers and a lot of friends and family!

I'd like to introduce you to the amazing Harriet Collins who assists part-time in Administration and Social...

Job Title (at Truli as well as any other work you do):

Administration & Social (Truli)

Global Marketing Manager (Proudfoot)

Job Description(Truli and other):

With Truli, my role is pretty diverse, but essentially I am helping Mia streamline processes, keep social up to date, Truli fittings via email, and working towards scaling Truli!

At Proudfoot, I execute the marketing plan, including email campaigns, paid advertising, conferences, social media, and collateral development, for a global consulting company. (Proudfoot)

Location (where do you live/work):

London, UK

What are your favorite surf/paddle/scuba/kitesurf sites and why?:

Scuba - Turks and Caicos. Turks is where I learnt to dive and where I did my DM internship (and met Mia!). I love the walls and the variation of dive sites across Grace Bay, Northwest Point and West Caicos. I also made some amazing friends in Turks and love the dive days with them.

Surf - Lombok, Indonesia. Let me start by saying...I'm a bad surfer. I can stand up for about 5 seconds and then I fall. BUT - I love it. I first tried surfing in the Maldives and knew I needed to go again. In 2019 I went solo on a 10 day surf camp across Bali, Lombok and Nusa Lembongan and it was incredible. Lombok was special because we were in the middle of nowhere. There were no other surfers so we had the waves to ourselves, the views were spectacular and overall the experience was unbeatable.

How did you end up doing what you're doing?:

With Truli, I saw Mia's open call for anyone interested in working with her in her fall 2020 Hi! How have you been? E-Letter

With Proudfoot, I sort of fell into it. After university I needed a job and landed one at a global consulting firm as an Executive Assistant. Having done some marketing in university, I was transferred to the marketing team and three years later, here we are!

Words of wisdom for women wanting to do what you do?:

Probably just have the confidence in yourself. I've struggled a lot with confidence and every day I question myself, but I'm getting better and learning that the more belief I have in myself, the better I do. So don't give up and just keep moving forward.

Favorite things about Truli Wetsuits:

For me, the design and fit is perfect. It was rare to see me in a wetsuit before Truli; honestly I hated the way wetsuits fit and how I looked in them - seeing all the focus on my stomach bulging made me want to shrink so no one could see me. I preferred rashguards (mens, because women's felt too tight) and boardshorts (when I could find women's ones that fit...which was rare). When I first tried my Truli on in Turks in 2016 it went on so easily because of the fleece lining (no skinny jean dance!) and the smooth center of the wetsuit made it so that my stomach wasn't the center of attention. I was so happy. (size fearless)
